In connection with World Mental Health Day, the Psychology students of Classes XI and XII prepared an Emotion Jar titled “Kutty Story” and presented it to the teachers in the 4th floor staffroom on 9 October 2026.
The initiative is a mark of gratitude, meant to promote emotional well-being among teachers by encouraging emotional awareness, reflection, and simple ways of managing emotions in daily life.
Devi Academy Senior Secondary School celebrated its Annual Sports Festival on 28 September 2026 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. The school chooses this venue so students can perform and compete at a stadium of international standards, and run on an artificial turf.
Lt. Gen. Ananthnarayanan graced the occasion as Chief Guest and was received by the school band. The programme opened with Tamizh Thai Vaazhthu, Vande Mataram, and an invocation to Lord Ganesha. The ceremonial flag hoisting was followed by the March Past of Classes XI and XII. The Chief Guest and School Correspondent, Ms. R. Jeyalekshmy, took the salute.
Class X presented a yoga display, and students of Classes III to IX followed with a class-wise drill. The finals of the track events were held at the same time. The six-hour programme closed with a pyramid formation and a retreat by the school band — a celebration of sporting effort, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The campus brimmed with warmth as Devi Academy Senior Secondary School celebrated Grandparents’ Day alongside Founder’s Day on 29 October 2026, from 9:00 AM — a blend of family bonds and the school’s own legacy.
The morning opened with prayer and a welcome address, followed by a tribute to the Founder Director, whose vision and achievements laid the foundation of the institution. The Chief Guest, one of the school’s own, gave a heartfelt address that moved many of the grandparents. Class V children presented greeting cards and honoured the Chief Guest and the Correspondent. Mementos from the management were presented through their grandchildren.
In the oath-taking ceremony, the children promised to love, care for, and spend time with their grandparents. Group songs, a rap, a Tamil skit, dances, and speeches filled the cultural programme. Games, Identify the Song, a Grandparents’ Talent segment, prizes, and refreshments followed, with the comperes keeping the audience smiling. The day closed with a vote of thanks.

Students of Classes IX and X of Devi Academy Senior Secondary School embarked on an educational tour to Odisha and Puri during the first week of October 2026. The tour gave them a chance to explore the region’s cultural heritage, historical landmarks, architecture, and spiritual significance.
The group visited Nandankanan Zoo in Bhubaneswar and the Sun Temple at Konark.
The days beyond the classroom encouraged curiosity, cultural awareness, teamwork, and a spirit of exploration. The tour blended education, discovery, and recreation, and the students returned with insights and memories from the journey.
Siddharth Sivakumar of Class XI has brought laurels to Devi Academy Senior Secondary School by winning the Silver Medal in the South Zone Cricket Championship. The championship was held at Kalvi International Public School, Nagari, Madurai, from 30 July to 6 August 2026.
We congratulate Siddharth on this remarkable achievement and wish him continued success in his sporting endeavours.
Mohammed Saifullah of Class XI won the Silver Medal in the South Zone Boxing Championship held at Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Ayanambakkam.
He has been selected for the CBSE National round. Our best wishes for his success there.
Students of Classes IX and X enthusiastically participated in an Art and Craft activity guided by experts from Fevicryl. They crafted mandala designs on handkerchiefs and created decorative designs on MDF boards.
The activity gave students a chance to explore their artistic skills, experiment with colours and designs, and express their creativity through hands-on work. It was an enriching and enjoyable experience that encouraged imagination, patience, and artistic expression.

The students of Classes I and II celebrated Vinayaka Chaturthi with devotion and enthusiasm. The programme began with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome address and an informative Tamil speech highlighting the significance of the festival.
The students enthralled the gathering with a melodious group song and an energetic group dance. The ramp walk featuring students dressed as Lord Ganesha was a delightful highlight of the celebration.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks — a beautiful reflection of our rich cultural heritage, traditions, and devotion to Lord Ganesha.
Children arrived dressed in vibrant costumes as Lord Krishna and Radha. A photo session was organised to capture the students in their festive attire, including a Krishna Jayanthi photo frame on campus.
Parents visited during dispersal time to join the festivities and were presented with a small blessing token from Lord Krishna. They then took part in an interactive activity — looking at portraits of Lord Krishna and recreating his facial expressions — before heading home.
The school observed Har Ghar Tiranga with a special morning assembly, flag ceremony, patriotism pledge, and student exhibition on the National Flag. Families were encouraged to hoist the Tiranga at home and upload a Selfie with Tiranga on harghartiranga.com.

An Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign was conducted in the school on 11th August 2026. SI J. Thaveedu and his team educated students on the dangers of drug and substance abuse and the legal consequences of juvenile driving. The session encouraged students to make responsible choices and lead a healthy, drug-free, law-abiding life.
Our kindergarten classes celebrated Deep Blue Craft Day with an ocean of colour and imagination. Students created handprint sea creatures, starfish crafts, and cup crafts, posed proudly before a sparkling under-the-sea backdrop — a joyful reminder to Save the Sea Creatures.
Pre-KG and LKG marked International Tiger Day with costumes, face paint, and cheerful tiger-themed activities. Through play and expression, our youngest learners discovered why tigers matter — and how even little voices can speak up for wildlife.
Our 38th Annual Day lit up Kamarajar Arangam on Saturday, 18 July 2026. Chief Guest Mr. Amrit Ramnath — music director, composer and vocalist — graced the evening as students brought the theme “Little Things, Big Smiles” to life on stage.
Students visited Anandam Special School for a Psychology case study outing. The visit offered meaningful exposure to inclusive education — observation, empathy, and learning that extends well beyond textbooks.
World Music Day was celebrated with student performances, a soulful patriotic song, and a paper presentation by Durga Devi (Class XI) on the seven musical notes.
Students from Classes III to IX demonstrated yoga asanas while others joined a mass session. KG little stars posed with big smiles — parents joined in too for a day of health and togetherness.
